I studied music composition in college, which mostly meant figuring out how to take a sound and arrange it until it made sense on paper and to your ears. Turns out, that’s pretty much what design is too. You just use your eyes instead of your ears. I can’t really speak much more on the topic since I’m not a doctor. Anyway, I think you get what I'm trying to say.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with the people I love, making music and art, or trying to get my dog Darby to give constructive feedback. She remains indifferent. She’s still very good, though.
